Factory records
Complete technical documentation, production records and homologation papers are held by Mercedes-Benz Classic in Stuttgart, which offers a birth-certificate service detailing a car's factory build, delivery date and original colour and trim, with microfiche archives for every VIN. Significant cars, including the 1994 DTM championship winner, the Vario Research Car and the C52 AMG prototype, are preserved in the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
