This account documents a black Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC (C126) based in Szczecin, Poland, acquired in June 2023. The car was purchased in US-specification trim and has since been the subject of a methodical, owner-driven rebuild covering bodywork, mechanicals, and interior.
Mechanical work has included a full engine overhaul of the M117 V8, a complete front suspension rebuild, and the fitment of AMG-style Tri-Y headers to improve power delivery and exhaust note. A heat shield for the headers was later fabricated by Vis Performance. The gearbox was also removed and overhauled as part of the same campaign.
Bodywork and finishing were handled by MDS blacharnia lakiernia in Szczecin, which carried out panel repairs and an engine bay refinish. US-specification headlamps were replaced with European units, chrome euro bumpers were sourced and fitted, and the headlight bezels were restored and re-galvanized through specialist suppliers. H&R springs lower the car modestly from standard ride height.
Interior work has included the fitment of Mercedes-Benz Classic Dattel leather supplied by Automotive Textiles. The account tags events including LOW Szczecin and Meclassico, and the car is used as a daily driver while the restoration continues in stages.
